Auli is a hiking and ski destination and after the creation of the state of Uttarakhand, formerly part of Uttar Pradesh, Auli was marketed as a tourist destination. The primary attraction for tourists in the place is snow skiing and the best time for it is from November to March. The months from May to November offer a cool and pleasant climate to the tourists. During the months of December to March, the Auli becomes an attraction for the winter sports enthusiasts, due to heavy snowfall which makes it ideal for winter games such as skiing, snowboarding, snow trekking.
